Le Plessis-Robinson, November 2024 – AETA, a leading player in unified communication technologies and audio streaming, announced a key development in its double streaming network this quarter.
After several years of using bonding technology and being a pioneer in double streaming, AETA now offers a new way to secure transmissions while adhering to the RFC5888 standard, ensuring better interoperability between different codec brands, even in the establishment of complex AoIP links that require network redundancy.
This advancement allows clients to standardize their workflows without compromising transmission quality.
Simplicity and Optimized Performance
The RFC5888 standard enables AETA to simplify the user experience by offering easier access through a single SIP account. This development allows the establishment of a SIP link over two different networks without the need for two distinct SIP communications, and therefore without requiring two different SIP accounts.
The user interface integrates this new feature into the same menu as the other bonding and double streaming features, providing a smooth and simplified management of connections. Clients can easily select the type of security they want to implement, choosing between AETA’s double streaming solution or the RFC5888 standard according to their needs. The interface has also been redesigned to be more intuitive, with optimized navigation and a better user experience.
Advantages and Disadvantages of RFC5888 Double Streaming
Advantages:
Improved interoperability: Thanks to the RFC5888 standard, AETA ensures extended compatibility between different codec brands, making it easier to exchange streams between various devices and reducing limitations tied to proprietary technologies.
Ease of use: A single SIP account to manage multiple network connections, making flow management simpler and more efficient, especially in complex environments.
Disadvantages:
Risk of failure: Although the RFC5888 standard enhances reliability by offering network redundancy, since only one SIP account is used, a failure of this account could interrupt the link, which would not be the case with AETA’s initial “double streaming” technology that uses redundant SIP accounts.
“This development meets the growing demand for simpler and more interoperable communication solutions, while ensuring the most reliable AoIP link,” explains Yann Vonarburg, Director at AETA Audio Systems.
AETA: A Vision for the Future
AETA continues to lead innovation in unified communication with solutions that are increasingly simple, powerful, and accessible. The adoption of the RFC5888 standard demonstrates AETA’s commitment to providing reliable, high-quality solutions to meet the demands of a constantly evolving market.

As you may already know, AETA Audio Systems is proud to be at the forefront of communication technologies, with systems already equipped with integrated 5G technology. This advancement underscores our commitment to providing innovative technologies that enhance the user experience.
With the end of 3G approaching, it’s time to explore what 5G can offer our clients, particularly in the broadcast market. AETA is collaborating with Orange to provide the best possible service so that our clients can maximize the benefits of this new technology.
Among the key advantages of 5G technology, we note :
• Guaranteed minimum throughput : professional 5G users will be able to subscribe to a minimum guaranteed throughput, therefore securing audio links, even in the most crowded areas.
• Reserved bandwidth : Beyond the previous point, certain users can even reserve specific bands, thus freeing themselves from any disruption in connection on the network.
• Ultra-low latency : 5G offers ultra-low latency, which is very useful in the broadcast market, where some clients are trying to minimize latency. Thanks to this low latency, remote control will be further enhanced. This ultra-low latency can also open up new use cases for AETA products like the ScoopFone5G.
It is worth noting that during the sporting events this summer, “Stand Alone” 5G bubbles were set up so that various types of mobile network users could benefit from the above advantages.
From all these benefits, it is clear that with 5G, complex communication setups such as network redundancy or stream sharing across multiple networks will no longer be essential to secure audio links. 5G fully aligns with our slogan : “Safe and simple audio links”.

These services will have no other purpose than to be able to assist you in case of unforeseen events and thus ensure the smooth running of your transmissions to listeners and viewers around the world
First of all, AETA offers you an installation service of any AETA product on site by sending one of its technicians. This, to ensure that your installation is optimal according to the surrounding conditions. This will go hand in hand, of course, with any recommendations that could be useful on the day.
To meet the varied needs of broadcasters on D-Day or during an event, we offer three ranges of support contracts that will allow you to call our technical support hot line from 01/07/2024 to 15/09/2024:
– The Bronze contract: Telephone assistance with the possibility of taking control of your device if you wish during office hours from 8am to 5pm. We will close the subscriptions of this service with a deadline of 15/07/2024.
– The Silver contract: Same as the bronze contract, but with an extended time slot from 8am to 10pm. In order to prepare the team for these extended hours, we will close the subscriptions to this service on 31/05/2024. This support contract will be subject to a minimum number of participants.
– Gold: Identical in every respect to the silver contract, but with an operational hotline even on weekends.
AETA also offers an innovative insurance/product support service for customers wishing to guarantee the connection during the Olympic Games. This insurance, per product, consists of the on-site replacement of the defective equipment with an identical product, allowing you to overcome a possible defect during critical moments. This service will only be available to customers who have subscribed to one of the above support contracts because before replacing the equipment, it is wise to ensure that it is actually non-functional. The deadline for joining this service is also 31/05.
In anticipation of the increased demand during the Olympic Games, we will increase our rental fleet to meet the needs of broadcasters. This initiative will ensure maximum availability of the equipment needed to cover the event in the best conditions. In order to prepare us better, rental requests will be made until 31/05/2024.
Finally, as recognition and as it is very likely that ScoopTeam is, once again, the star device of these Olympiads, AETA includes the Bronze support contract for any purchase of a ScoopTeam..

Here we are! The end of the year is fast approaching! 2023 seems to be ready to retire us by closing this month of December and this, without even having the right to enjoy any real snowflake. Pity, but it did not prevent us to prepare the holiday season properly 😉.
However… what a year! It was, at many levels, a very eventful one but still, 2023 offered us a lot. Especially in recent months that allowed us to close the year in style.
First of all, we want to make a special mention to each of you. You collaborators, recent or long-standing. You employees, customers, partners and followers. Thank you all. Because it is for and with you that we maintain the course of continuous improvement in order to offer the best and always more. We make sure to do everything we can to push the boundaries of innovation to give you the most optimal experience.
Speaking of innovation, let’s take a brief look back at what has happened for AETA over the last few months. Of course, we can’t bring you up to date without mentioning the latest events we’ve been involved in. So let’s go!
EVENT / PARTNERSHIP
Like every year, AETA did not lag behind! Armed with our flagship products such as ScoppyFlex, ScoopFone or MultiScoop, we went to many fairs that allowed us to exhibit and present our articles. In Europe or abroad, the IBC, the SATIS EXPO or INTERBEE, have opened the door to multiple opportunities.
Let’s pause for a moment to talk about the IBC. This show, said “at the forefront of industrial innovation”, was a great success for AETA. We were indeed pleased to present INES, for the first time, in collaboration with our partner Ace Media Tools.
Indeed, our two teams have worked hand in hand to implement this innovative software representing the perfect junction of AETA and Ace Media Tools. We are proud of this partnership reflecting our unique complementarity to offer always more to the broadcast industry.
TECHNICAL
At AETA, we have a particular appeal for innovation. Here, in order to offer you a wide range of features, we take care to constantly optimize our products and present new versions as soon as the opportunity arises. They remain true to our identity: «Simple and Safe audio links» to always facilitate your use. We told you, important features have been operated on some of our products!
THE SCOOPYFLEX
The disruptive Reporting Codec consists of a mobile device and a docking station. The latter is a must or rather, an imperative for a reporter working alone and has finally made people happy by being released in mass productionBut since 2023 you can also find the «recording» and «playback» functions on the unit, allowing you to make simple recordings on site and transfer them safely.
THE SCOOPTEAM
Yes, the ScoopTeam has not been left behind! This a new generation commentary unit is then the perfect ally for OB vans as well as in stadium commentary. It benefits from AES67 (Ravenna or Dante) and a double direct studio connection.
So what’s new? An advanced stereo mode! Indeed, this year ScoopTeam has been upgraded, beside some ergonomic improvements, a full stereo mode pour satisfy broadcasters who see in the ScoopTeam a unit able to cover various use cases.
SALES SUCCESS
AETA has supplied several equipments to its long-standing customer, Radio Renascença. The latter, based in Lisbon, Portugal, requested Simple and Safe audio links products to cover a world-class event. On the occasion of World Youth Day, the Pope visited Portugal and met millions of young people from all horizons. AETA units then played a fundamental role in the audio transmissions required for this purpose. José Loureiro, assistant manager of Radio Renascença, testifies that the products were easy to use that everything went perfectly: «a success», to use his words.
AETA is now ready to close the 2023 chapter. But be careful, see you in 2024 for always more news!
The whole team wishes you happy holidays and all the best 🎄!
The station can broadcast from anywhere at any time thanks to AETA technology
LE PLESSIS ROBINSON, France — October 5, 2022
Private, commercial radio station Rádio Renascença is making smart use of advanced codec technology from AETA Audio Systems to connect to its listeners.
Based in Lisbon and owned by various organizations within the Portuguese Catholic Church, the station is part of Grupo Renascença Multimedia, which also operates RFM and Mega Hits.
According to Jose Loureiro, Grupo Renascença Multimedia Assistant Manager, Radio Inovation & Technical Unit, the scope of the group’s programs has evolved since its beginning in 1937 and is now much broader, offering a program for everyone,” and not just religious content, while at the same time, maintaining a thread to this heritage.
The station, which is a long-time AETA customer, employs µScoops, Scoop5s IP at MCR. For field use it also has Scoop5S, Scoopy+S units, Scoophone4G codecs and ScoopTeam. Loureiro also explains that in some cases, AETA’s codecs interface with AEQ Phoenix Stratos codecs and receives connections from an AEQ Talent as well as LUCI Live.
It also implements AETA gear for live programs, including mobile productions, events. And uses AETA units for all the live remote events, such as from football matches, concerts, on-location radio shows as well as for contribution — news and entertainment reporters.
“We bought the first AETA SIP Codecs in 2011 to meet the request for a special commercial event. We needed to be able to do some of RFM’s radio shows from a customized van and on the move,” said Loureiro. “At the time, the choice on the market was smaller than today and Scoopy+ was — in our opinion — the equipment that offered the features we needed, with a good quality/price ratio.”
The event was a success, adds Loureiro. “This positive experience, together with the comfort of an excellent relationship and support by Sitemaster, AETA’s local representative and AETA’s ongoing technological advances, made us decide to stick with the brand.” He says the launch of AETA’s Double Streaming technology was also a factor and, in some ways, a “game changer” for his operations, adding that the remote access option is very useful for end-users in the field.
“Before switching to AETA, producing live shows outdoor was often limited by the availability of ISDN and would require lots of planning and time for implementation: Anything remote meant bad audio quality,” said Loureiro.
But with very thorough equipment like Scoopy+ initially, more recently ScoopTeam with double streaming technology, Loureiro explains that they now feel that they can broadcast from anywhere, at any time. “The confidence we have in AETA portable codecs motivated us to create some innovative programs like broadcasting from a bike or a hot air balloon or traveling to 15 cities (1,850 kilometers) in three days while broadcasting our morning show from a minivan,” he said.
Let’s add to this that the purchase of ScoopyFlex with 2x4G integrated was made in July for the World Youth Day 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal. “The ScoopyFlex was given to the correspondents without prior training on the device. All correspondents immediately understood and mastered the device and immediately went on air with it. They also mentioned that they had worked without issues inside sacral buildings using the embedded 2x4G modules providing stable links under difficult circumstances. During the event one journalist of Radio Renascença equipped with ScoopyFlex accompanied the Pope during a trip and all worked fine with AETA’s device”, Says Mr Loureiro. Despite short leadtime, the client kept faith in AETA, seeing the Scoopy Flex as the solution for covering this event.
AETA accepted the challenge and delivered right on time the 17th of July and the World Youth Day took place from 01. – 06. August 2023.
Yann Vonarburg, AETA’s general manager adds; “The relationship we have with Rádio Renascença is clearly what AETA is aiming for: smooth communication with mutual trust that leads to a satisfied end user who appreciates the technology we develop. We are happy to count this creative and cultural station as one of our loyal customers and will continue to support their requirements moving forward.”
