ScoopFone HD / ScoopFone HD-R Last Firmware Release

Download here the file for updating the firmware to the last version V1.05.

Copy this update file into the root of a USB stick; switch your ScoopFone on and wait for full startup; plug the USB stick into the rear panel of the ScoopFone, press the <OK> button to acknowledge the “Update Unit from USB?” message and initiate the firmware update. Updating the firmware will last for about 5 minutes, and the unit will be automatically restarted.

  • Two alternate ways to manage calls using the contacts (ScoopFone HD-R/R version, rackmount with relays):
    "Switch" mode wherein call/release is done on a state change, or "Pulse" mode wherein call/release is triggered by a temporary contact closure.

Improvements

  • Display "Limited service" or "Not allowed" information whenever a prepaid SIM card has expired or the ScoopFone has limited access to the network.
  • When in screen saver mode, the first key that is hit is not processed except for exiting this mode.

  • Capability to send DTMF tones during an active call. This feature allows e.g. to send tones while connected to an interactive voice response server.
    A "send DTMF" entry in the menu allows to enable/disable this feature.

New features:

  • Capability to save the PIN code (via the menu), so that the unit automatically unlocks the SIM card at start-up.
    Same capability also accessible via the embedded html pages on the Rack/Ethernet version.
    It is recommended to disable this feature before exchanging the SIM card (and possibly the PIN code). However, the unit will not make more than one trial if the memorized code is wrong.

Improvements:

  • Warning message "SIM locked" whenever the SIM card is blocked.
  • Fixed: with some types of SIM cards, the "3G" LED might not light up even when the network access technology was indeed 3G.

  • Amount of time you must hold down the "Hang up" button to switch off the ScoopFone: reduced to 1 second.
    A confirmation message is then displayed; press <OK> to confirm and switch off, or <Esc> to cancel.
